Evening Gentlemen

My apologies for not making the game on Sunday at Wakehurst. Kid duties.

I have no doubt the course was in as good a condition as ever.

By the looks of the scores no one really set the course alight. Only one person playing to handicap. The average score for the day was a touch under 28. Wakehurst has always been a fair test though.

Congratulations to a late inclusion Dave Burgess for winning the day with 36 points. He edged out Paul and Ian Redfearn both on 34 with Paul taking the countback. Not such a happy day for many others with scores going as low as 17 for the day.

Nearest the pins were won by Rob Langer on the 5th and Rob Preston on the 13th with the jackpot not being claimed by the looks of things.

Rob has updated the point score on the website and it looks like we have a couple of breakaways. Rob Preston has hit the front followed by Matt. They have a bit of a break on the field now. With what looks like only 1 round left to qualify for the club championship there are quite a few good (ish) golfers who are right on the edge of the top 16 and will need a big game at Bayview.

Our next game is the travellers cup, which doesn’t count towards the point score, then we have Bayview and then the memorial shield which is an ambrose event. So only one chance left.

As mentioned our next game is the travellers cup at Hawks Nest.

So far on the list we have Alex, Rob P and Rob L, Warren, Werner, Dave, Ian Redfearn, Steve, Matt, Peter Thomas, Paul, Adam, Dan and a guest of Robs. Once again my name fails to appear on the list. Again I’ll have my kids for the weekend. Trust me though I am working hard behind the scenes to see what I can get done.

That just about covers it. There is still time to get your name down for the travellers cup but it will have to be soon.

Jason.
