Afternoon all,
A great day at Long Reef today. The weather was great and the course was almost back to its best. The new dam gave us a bit more to think about on a few holes and the new mounds up the 15th certainly made the hole more challenging.
Today was the final of the club championship. It was played out between Rob Preston and Adam. It turned out a one sided affair with Adam winning 6/5. Rob played well but Adam had the best game of his career shooting an incredible 47 points. Rob would have needed to shoot a 6 over off the stick to win. Congratulations to both players on a great and worthy final.
It was also the final round of the captains trophy. Matt went into the final round with a slender lead over Steve and held on today shooting 37 points to take the trophy. With an average score of 37 over the 4 rounds it was a well deserved win. Steve finished second just 5 point behind.
The rest of us played a stableford game and the average score today overall was a very respectable 32.3 points. We had 6 of 18 golfers playing to or bettering their handicap and 13 players scoring 30 or more. A pretty good day out all round.
The silver medal was won by Adam with his 47 points. His 4th win this year. 2nd place was taken out by Carl with 39 and Matt took out 3rd on a countback with 37.
Nearest the pins were won by Carl on the 2nd and Rob P on the 13th. The jackpot was unclaimed.
Our next game is in 2 weeks at Bayview on the 27th teeing off at 7 am. Please log on to the website to register or email me to put your name down.
Congratulations again to Adam. Our new club champion.
Jason.
