BBSGC News

Morning all.

We certainly new it was the first day of spring on Sunday morning at Mona Vale. It was a perfect day for golf. The course was looking pretty good considering the huge amounts of rain we had during the week. The day started well for most with 1 exception. I’ve heard of people showing up to golf with no shoes or no umbrella on a wet day but this was my first experience of seeing someone showing up with no clubs. A small oversight on your part Bob but you did recover well and hit a fair few decent shots with the hired clubs.

We were playing the 2nd round of the club championships. It looks like we had 3 fairly close games and then Steve’s game against Rob Preston. Congratulations to Rob on a 7/6 win. Other games were won by Matt 3/2 over Rob Langer. Adam 3/2 over Ian Redfearn ( not a bad effort from Ian giving away 20 shots ) and Richard 1 up over Roger. Well played to almost all involved.

The day was also an individual stableford game. The day was won by Richard on 38 points who edged out Rob Preston on a count back. 3rd place was taken out by Warren on 37. A special mention to Alex who was determined to crack the 36 point barrier for the first time in a while. He nailed a 4 footer on the last to reach his target. The only other golfer to play to their handicap was Ian Prohm who also hit 36. Well played.

Nearest the pins were taken out by Ian Redfearn and myself and the Jackpot was won by Adam with a cracking shot on the 16th

Our next game is at Wakehurst on Sunday September 15 teeing off at 7 am. This will be the semi final of the club championship and a stableford game for the rest of us.
