What a start to the day at Bayview this morning. Just as the first group reached the first green of the day it started. The rain came and it progressively got heavier for the next hour or so. Some greens were un playable for a short time but around half way through the round it began to clear up and conditions improved considerably. The gloves and clubs were still wet which made for a really tough round. So tough in fact 3 golfers packed it in and didn’t complete their rounds. The average score was quite respectable considering the conditions. 27.66.
With only 18 starters and 15 players receiving points every player who finished their round received points. That helped create a new record today with a score of 10 points coming in in 15th spot and collecting points in the championship. Well done Paul.
The day was won by Adam on what can only be described as an unbelievable score of 41 points. Not sure how you did it but well played. Matt came in 2nd with 36 and was the only other player to get anywhere near his handicap. 3rd was taken out with 32 on a countback from Alex and Rob. Must have been all the time in England that gave you the slight advantage.
Nearest the pins were taken out by Warren on the 8th and rob on the 12th. The jackpot didn’t go off despite warrens bet effort. Looked bloody close to a flag stick away.
Today was a multiplier event and with first and second on the day playing together it was always going to be hard to stop them. Adam and Matt combined for a huge 85 points 35 points clear of Rob and Keith on 50 with Martin and Jason a1 shot further back on 49. Well done to 2 of the clubs better golfers Steve and David who combined for 18 points.
Our next game is the Memorial Shield at The Springs on July 7. This is a 4 ball Ambrose event and is always a lot of fun.
