Afternoon all.
It was certainly a challenging day out at Mona Vale on Sunday. The breeze was up early and the greens were very slick. This combination helped keep scores fairly modest. The average for the day was just 27 points and only one golfer hit 36 points. The top 10 were only separated by 5 points so those short puts and duffs came back to haunt a few of us.
The day was won by Adam with his 36. Carl took out 2nd with 35 and we had 4 golfers finish on 34 with one of our new members Robbie taking out the countback. Nearest the pins were won by Ian Redfearn and Ian Preston. The jackpot continues to grow with no one taking it out this week.
Some amazing golf was played but none better (or worse )than what I saw in the par 3 14th. I’m sure Rob won’t mind. The tee shot made the middle of the 13th fairway. The lob wedge in made it to the middle of the 12th fairway. The second lob wedge in landed about 12 feet from the flag and the put was sunk for a 4 a 2. Amazing hole.
We had some new players join us on Sunday. Welcome to Tim Costello. And welcome again to Robbie, Norris, Hunter and Dirk who joined us for a second time.
Our next game is at Long Reef on January 19 teeing off at 6.31.
