Kooindah Waters - 29th Sept 2019.
What a great day at Kooindah Waters, beautiful weather, course in immaculate condition and 18 players with all but two making their handicap.
I guess it is in the course name WATERS where I guess many a ball ended up. I lost 3 balls in the first few holes.
Individually star of the day was Roger de Poortere who scraped together 43 points not so closely followed by Derek with a very respectable 37 and a home course advantage knowing where all the trouble was.
However, the event of the day was a 2B aggregate with Roger de Poortere & Warren Raynel amassing 66 points. Derek Pugh & Steve Joyce were 2nd on 64 and Werner Betschart & Bill Walburn 3rd on 62. The next best score was 60 then some distance to the rest.
NTP’s were Roger on the 4th and Allan Wickett on the 12. The jackpot is safe accumulating another 4 balls.
Not an easy course with many many fairway bunkers places in difficult positions and having some quite high front edges to get over, fast greens and as I’ve said lots of water. Having said all that most liked the course with some planning a weekday visit.
Many thanks to Derek for making all the arrangements, golf, carts and lunch.
The 13th Oct is at Long Reef @ 7:20am. It is the final round to our club championships with Rob Preston verses Adam Baker. Also, it’s the 4th round of the Captain’s Trophy.
Bookings now available on-line.
