BBSGC News

Today we played the first round of the club championships and the 3rd round of the captains trophy. The course was not the perfect Long reef we have become accustomed to over the years. 4 holes cut down to par 3’s and a bloody big hole in the middle. I’m sure all the work will be worth it in the end but it certainly changed the feeling of the place today.

We’ll start with the club championship. Rob Langer over Paul on the 19th hole to win 1 up. Adam over Werner 2 up. Ian Redfearn won on forfeit over John. Roger over Alex 3 and 2, Richard over me 3 and 2 and Steve over Warren 4 and 2.

Congratulations to the winners today. All games made it to at least the 16th so not a bad effort from all.

This sets up second round matches between Rob Langer against the winner of Matt v Dan. Adam will be playing Ian Redfearn. Roger will be playing Richard and Steve will be playing the winner of Rob Preston and Bob.

It was disappointing to find out this morning that John was away. I’m sure you’ll all agree enough emails went out in advance of the game today.

 To todays results.

We had a pretty good average score today of 29. Not bad. That was helped by some pretty good scores at the top.

Steve won the day with 39 points1 point ahead of Richard on 38 who beat Matt on a countback also on 38.  Unlucky for Adam to miss out on the cash finishing in 4th also on 38.

Nearest the pins were taken out by Steve on the 2nd and me on the 13th.

We welcomed 3 guests today. Welcome to Norris Smith, Carl Walker and Alan Wickett.

Our next game is on at Asquith in 2 weeks on August 11 at 7.19 am.  Matt will be playing Dan and Rob Preston will be playing Bob on that day.

Please make sure you register to play.
