Afternoon all,
It was a bit brisk and breezy on Sunday morning but that didn’t stop some pretty good golf being played on the day.
It was the semi finals of the club championship with Ian Prohm beating San 4 & 2 and I beat Roger on the 17 to take it out 2 & 1. Two pretty good matches with some good golf played in both. That sets up a third place playoff between San and Roger and the final between myself and Ian.
Some very good scores were posted on Sunday but no one could top Rob Preston’s 42 points. Ian always said his boy had potential. Always consistent Bill Walburn finished 2nd with 37 and Ian Prohm came in 3rd with 36 beating 2 other golfers also on 36.
Nearest the pins were taken out by Dan on the 2nd and Rob Langer on the 6th. The jackpot wasn’t claimed. Perhaps the gentle breeze blowing on the 16th had something to do with that.
We have our next game on September 30 at Kooindah Waters. At this stage our normal cost will remain but for that price a cart is also included. Derek has been in touch and said that the club will need numbers confirmed by the 25th. That’s next Tuesday. So if you are keen to play and you don’t have your name on the list please let me know before Tuesday. It’s a great course in great condition and will be a terrific day out.
