BBSGC News

Afternoon all,

Last Sunday we played and ambrose event for the Memorial shield. It was a bitterly cold morning with a freezing wind which seemed to be right into your face no matter which way you were facing. Still 28 brave, or stupid, golfers turned out.

Birdies were hard to come by and even saving par on some of the tougher holes was difficult.

It ended up being a pretty close event with the top 4 groups being within 2 shots.

The day was won by Richard, Gary, Phil and Steve with a net 61.4 just .2 ahead of Jason, Ian Preston, Adam and Sean on 61.4

No presentation was made due to the lack of numbers. We had very few golfers who stayed after their round which was disappointing for those in the later groups and the eventual winners of the shield. It is understandable that we ere and hour from home and some wished to get back for various reasons but still it would have been nice to have the presentation of one of our longer standing trophies.

We may look next year at bringing the memorial shield a little closer to home.

On another note, our next game will be held at Mona Vale on July 29. This is the first game of the club championship. We have had a few notable drop outs changing the starting line up quite a bit.

The list of games is now listed below. If you are on the list and are unable to play in the championship please let me know as soon as possible.
