BBSGC News

Evening Gentlemen,

First of all let me apologise for my tardiness in getting the Long Reef report out. No excuses.

The last 2 games have been hugely important in the race to both the club championship as well as the point score championship. We’ll start with Long Reef.

In all the years I’ve played at Long Reef this was one of the best days I’ve had there. The sun was shining, a gentle breeze and a course in excellent condition.

This was the final and 3rd place playoff for the club championship. I played Ian Prohm in the final and San played Roger for 3rd place. In the match between San and Roger San went out to an early lead and was never headed. San won the match 4 and 3. A huge effort considering he was ranked outside the top 30 going into the playoffs. Congratulations.  In the final I managed to get over the top of Prohmy 4 and 3. Again it was an early lead but Prohmy fought back early on the back 9 to keep it very interesting. A great match and a pleasure to play a final against Ian.

The day was won by Adam with a brilliant 41 points. Showing us all the potential he has. Well played. Second place was taken out by Matt on 40 points and 3rd by Dan with 38. Nearest the pins were won by Crawford on the 2nd and Matt on the 7th.  The jackpot failed to go off again leaving 64 balls on offer at Wakehurst.

The day was also the playoff for the gold medal. It came down to a countback between Steve and Werner who both finished on 36 points. It was won by Steve who won his silver medal in the previous game and was the last to qualify.  Congratulations to Steve.

Thanks.

 Jason.
