Afternoon Gentlemen,
I think the day at Wakehurst today would best be described as heavy. The ground was wet and heavy under foot and with the high humidity and tees set back a long way it wasn’t an easy day. There was very little run on the fairways so the course was playing long. Looking at the scores today I wouldn’t be alone finding it difficult out there. The average score today was just 27 with only 1 player out of 24 bettering their handicap.
The day was won by Paul with 39 points. A pretty fair effort winning the day by 4 points ahead of Dave on 35 and Warren on 33. 3 other players also finished on 33 points but were beaten on a countback. All 3 will now be going through their rounds thinking if only.
Nearest the pins were won by Ian Redfearn on the 5th and Gary on the 13th. Warren picked up the jackpot on the 16th, not bad on a 177 m hole.
Our next game is at Bayview on the 24th at 7.20. 3 weeks away so plenty of time for us all to get a bit of practice in and time also for Steve to get his buggy fixed. It was quite a sight watching a grown man wrestling with an electric buggy for 6 holes before finally admitting defeat.
Raffles will be on as usual on Thursday so get up to the club if you can.
Jason.
