Yet another spectacular winter’s day in Sydney for our 3rd visit to Long Reef this year. Today saw the 1st round of the Club Championship played on a course that we all love and that is always in the best of condition. Some close games and some not so close, the results are as follows:
Jason Pugh over John Penney 2/1
Ian Prohm over Rob Langer 1up
Les Andrews over Wayne Starling 4/3
Bill Walburn over Matt Brown 3/2
Phillip Ming-Lai over Steve Mackenzie 1up
Stev Joyce over Werner Betschart 5/4
Alex Greig over Martin Alberts 4/2
Ian Redfearn over Paul Stracey 2up
Congratulation to the winners and commiserations to those that came second!
In spite of conditions on the day being so good only one of our players managed to play to their handicap…congratulations to Ian Preston, winning the individual stableford competition of the day with 36 points and securing a Silver Medal for his trouble. Coming in 2nd with 32 points was Steve Joyce beating Dan Page on a countback. Dan is new to the club, great to see him secure a podium finish and get amongst the points. Rounding out the top 10 was Jason, Bill Walburn, Les, Werner, Keith, Alex & Phillip.
Nearest the pin on the 2nd hole went to Ian Redfearn and on the 13th to Bill Young.
