We were greeted by a cool and breezy day at Long Reef on Sunday.  As usual the course was in magnificent condition.  The fairways were great and the greens were quick. A perfect setting for the final of the club championship.

The final was played out between Bob and Warren. It was a close match with Warren coming away with the win with 2 holes to play.  A pretty impressive victory for Warren who was giving away 18 shots, so to come away with a 3&2 win was a great effort.  Warren won through to the final after giving a 25 shot start in the semi so a well-deserved club champion this year.  Congratulations.

The match for 3rd place was between Carl and Steve.  Again, a very close match where neither player was able to get away.  In the end it took 20 holes before Carl prevailed 1 up.  Well played to both players in a very entertaining match.

For the rest of us it was a stableford match.  Scoring was hard work for most of us.  15th place came in with 28 points. That was an unbelievable 18 points behind the winner of the day. Adan Baker won on 46 points. Playing off a handicap of 18 on Sunday. Adam shot 8 over off the stick.  Well played. Werner took out second 8 points behind on 38 points and Paul finished third with 34.

Nearest the pins were won on the 2nd by a new player, Brett Young. He also won the 13th.  The jackpot didn’t go off.

Our next game is the Christmas game at Turramurra on December 6th teeing off at 6.45.  The game will be followed by our annual general meeting and awards for the year.  We have 40 spots booked and we already have 28 names on the list.  Please let me know if you would like to be there as soon as you can.  Preference will be given to regular players in the event of too many numbers.
