Afternoon all,

What a day at Long Reef today. Possibly the windiest day I’ve had while playing there. It was already windy before tee off at 7 and only got worse as the day went on.

This, combined with fast greens made for a very tough day at the office. The conditions were reflected in the scores posted today. No one played to their handicap and the average score was our lowest in the past few years at just 23.

The day was won by Alan with a score of 32. Well played on a hard day. 2nd place was Adam Baker, ever consistent also with 32 and third place was taken out by Alex who came in with 29 points. Alex beat Adam and Rob Preston and Matt on a count-back.

Nearest the pins were won by Steve on the 2nd and Roger on the 13th and Roger again on the jackpot hole. Well played.

Today was also the first round of the club championship.

Rob Langer beat Werner 3 & 2           Carl beat Slats 3 & 2.

Adam Baker beat Alan 2 & 1              Steve beat Gary 4 & 3.

Ian Redfearn beat Jason 1 up            Bob beat Rob Preston 1 up after a 2 hole playoff.

Matt beat Adam Preston 3 & 2           Warren beat Les 4 & 3.

Well played to the victors today.

Next round we have -

1. Rob Langer v Carl                        2. Ian Redfearn v Warren

3. Matt v Bob                                  4. Adam Baker v Steve

The winner of game 1 will play the winner of game 2 in the semi final and the winner of game 3 will play the winner of game 4 in the other semi final

The next game is at Wakehurst in 3 weeks on September 13.
