BBSGC News

Things weren’t looking too good as we got up Sunday morning but for most of us the umbrellas were back in the bag by the end of the first hole and were never needed again. The course was very wet but playable and the conditions improved as the day went on.

We had 22 starters. 21 finishes. Hope your OK Phil.

The average score for the day was 28.5 with 11 golfers scoring above the average and 10 below. Not too bad given the conditions. No one took the course apart with the winner of the day scoring 36 points. In fact, 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th all finished on 36. Well done to Carl for taking out the countback from Warren and David. This was Car'ls first official win but with the previous few games not considered as comp games he can call himself a little unlucky. This is his 3rd club game in a row where he has finished on top. Well played.

Special mention must go to our 4th place getter, Scott Redfearn also finishing on 36 points. I think the point needs to be made that Scott is 13 years old and plays off a handicap of 6. The youngster scored 6 over on the day so when I say no one took the course apart I think perhaps one player actually did. I’d have thought teeing off in group 1 with 21 hackers standing behind you offering advice may be a little daunting but I would be wrong. A perfect tee shot straight at the pin on a long par 3 silenced the hackers pretty quickly. Well played and we hope to see you again.

Nearest the pins were taken out by Scott and Warren.

All in all, a pretty good day out.

Our next club game is at Kooindah Waters on July 5th and is our annual memorial shield game. This is an Ambrose event and teams will be drawn at the club the Thursday before the game. I have 12 names on the list already. Please register on the website or let me know if you want to get your name down.
